We are easily reached by car from the main highway SS1 that runs from Genoa to Rome. Exit Donoratico

Tombolo makes an excellent base from which to explore the beauty, culture and history that is Tuscany.
The medieval hilltop town of Castagneto made famous by the poet Giosue Carducci is 10 km. away and can be easily visited in an afternoon.
Massa Marittima, San Gimignano and Volterra are also close enough for half day excursions.
The vineyards and cantinas of the Bolgheri doc area
(Sassicaia, Antinori, Ornellaia, Grattamacco e Gaia) are all close by and can be visited.
Elba is easily reached by car (and ferry from Piombino).
Florence, Pisa and Siena are all less than 2 hours drive.
Well served by a network of side roads the area is perfect for cycling and mountain biking.
